Volunteer with Junket

Volunteers have enabled Junket to exist and thrive since we began in July 2011. We have three main categories of volunteers: mentors, professionals, and remote supporters—or a combination of all three! If interested, please click below and fill out a short questionnaire and we will be in touch.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Immediate needs for Professional Volunteers

Graphic Designers
& Font Aficionados

Earlier this summer, we met with our members to create personalized profiles and establish their career and education goals. Now, we’re building clear pathways to help them pursue those goals.

We’ve gathered a variety of career and education options and developed practical, step-by-step guides whether the next step is certification, training, or further education. Our goal is to transform this information into a digital guide that’s interactive and easy to use. Members will be able to click links, explore opportunities, and refer back to it as they move forward. The content is already compiled, and we’re now focused on designing it into user-friendly PDF booklets—or possibly an online version with a download option and the flexibility to update it over time. We’re open to creative ideas to make it as accessible and engaging as possible!

FAQs

Is there a specific time commitment I need to give for volunteering?

There may be some volunteer roles that could come in the form of giving some sort of talk during a meeting (about finances or legal resources or something like that) but for the most part we ask that anyone who sign up as a mentor or more long-term volunteer commit for at least one year.

Do I need to do any sort of clearances or trainings to volunteer?

Anyone who volunteers through Junket must have a background check conducted (which we coordinate). We are currently in development of training materials we plan to give volunteers so as those become available we will schedule those trainings.

Is my volunteered time considered an in-kind donation?

General mentor volunteering would not be considered in-kind from a tax perspective, but if you are volunteering professional services (tax preparations, tutoring, financial advisement, etc.) and would like to have your time quantified as an in-kind donation, let us know and we can do that.
